WRITING | a summer ago

a   s u m m e r   a g o

sparkling nights
black gold nights
losing friends to grown up fights
city noise small town silence
grown near the river with the riots
fireworks and on firehearts
blazing skies
crazy eyes
scarlet flame
dreams of fame…

virtuous vices fascistic freedom
those stained glass eyes
their white steeple lies
hiding their sins and wiping our minds
cathedral covered sunday secrets
if you know one you better keep it
if you got a dream you better kill it

drunk rose scented girls
nighttime girls
under the river bridge girls
always there with the
blue eyed freckled boys
good, working boys”
boys will be boys
if you've never had "love" you'd better try it
if you've got a dream you better throw it

a year-younger me
15 year old me
trying to make sense of the senseless society
an old soul in young bones
a mind with a mind and age of its own
if you’ve got a brain you better teach it
if you don’t the devil will feed on it
and if you've got a dream-

you better keep it

WRITING | "darknesses."

darknesses.

come to me with your darkness.

come, knowing I will care.

deeply.

it will eat me up inside because I try to carry every cross on my shoulders
like a guilt.
a guilt from all that darkness.
a guilt because I couldn't stop the hands that pulled you further and further in
and a guilt reminding me of the times you didn't make it into the light.
a guilt not mine, no, but it's not in my nature to let you bear this life on your own

don't bear it on your own- come to me with your darkness

it kills me but it keeps me alive
knowing you're not facing death alone anymore
death from that darkness

I will filter
your heart, your past
your life, your memories
your soul, your ghosts
your madness, your sanity
your hatred, your love

and give back only the bright things of your existence

i'll keep the darkness from you

i'll try my hardest

I have so many darknesses inside.

but you know, it becomes like the night sky in there.

it's deep midnight
and there's fragments of stars- bits of light I've stolen to remember the hope in people eyes.
it is beautiful in the night. it is so human.
and when the midnight overflows
and streams down my cheeks in ink and color
it's my soul's only, hurtful way to make room
for the moon- my heart, my light, so I can give it to others.

so I can get new darknesses.

but some people's darknesses settle.

in the deep water, right at the bottom of my core
those waters that are hardly stirred but are
always
rippling.

these darkness are ones I've learned to love too much.
from people who I never should have fallen for so painfully.
some darknesses are my own forever because it is the only way to hold on.
it's my own, delusional method for not losing people
when they are lost.

come to me with your darkness.

break me with what has broken you.

and at the end of my life
with millions of invisible tears and faint shadows on my face
i will smile
as I look inside
at all the galaxies we've made together.

WRITING + PHOTOGRAPHY | just another dream

just another dream

golden hour of work nights and traffic lights
honking horns and pink martini skies
who notices the golden gate or city sights
here the dream is not in front but behind our eyes

a dream of the red stars along the street
constellations  gaze at the sky scape  view
at the spotlight hidden souls beneath their feet
and know they're all just dreamers of dreams not come true

days and nights in a soft pastel glow
takeout food and undefinable mood
what it all means, I'm sure I don't know
maybe someday soon a dream will come true

everything 's rolling by but I stand still
nostalgia for something untouched, it holds me back
maybe it's fear and it's held me forever
maybe it's doubt and it always will

piano keys, a low whistled tune
a new dream, and new dream and it's of you
like dominos we tumble to the rhythm
of another dream that can't come true

my voice unfiltered, red seats unfilled
burning as the petals of a neon rose
like a daze but too vivid, the romance killed
the script complete, the curtain closed

slumped silhouette on the smokey stage
playing our theme in purple and blue
minor chords, then bittersweet resolve
music to a dream that won't come true

golden hour of work nights and stage lights
I’m someone special now, don't ask me who
stuck in the traffic of my own tired mind
thinking maybe life’s a dream that wont come true.

maybe this is all

just another dream

that won't come true.

FASHION | Favorite Oscar's Looks

Hi Friends!

After watching the Oscars the other night I got the (unoriginal๐Ÿ’๐Ÿป) idea to make a post about allll my favorite looks of the 2017 event. Oh, and by the way, who else was seriously awkward-ed when the whole Best Picture moment totally flopped? ๐Ÿ˜‘๐Ÿ˜‘๐Ÿ˜‘ I mean... eek.
Anyway, as I was looking through red carpet photos, a few gorgeous looks from past Oscars popped up too. I just couldn't get over the beauty of some of them so I decided to instead make this post on the Oscars Best Dressed since like 2010.
So here we go.

Ruth Nega

Here is by far my favorite look of the night. This dress๐Ÿ˜

Emma Stone

This is Emma in 2013 and I am obsessed with everything about this look.

Cate Blanchett

Kiera Knightly

2015

Hailee Steinfeld

Olivia Munn

I wish I was wearing this right now ๐Ÿ˜

Natalie Portman

Sleek and Classy.

Aula'i Cravalho

Her performance was just as on point as her dress.

Makeup Looks

Felicity Jones

Lilly Collins

Alicia Vikander

 Olivia Munn

Natalie Portman

Janelle Monรกe

I love Hollywood culture and I always have. I've forever been intrigued by it and wanted to be in that world myself as a singer, and I still do. Since I was a little girl I've had this burden and love for celebrities- these souls in the spotlight,  many blinded by darkness. These, living, dying proof that you can live your dream and gain the whole wold and lose your own soul. These, shining on silver screens and glimmering, fading on the golden, abused stage of fame.  And these, who's lives are far different than what they might appear.

Humans living, dying.
Like fireworks we have our moment of brilliance, our spark and our noise. A fleeting second to mean something before our glory tumbles to ash.
Our own light is temporary.
 So we must ask ourselves:
With whose light shall we shine?
And how bright are we brave enough to be...

I hope you guys enjoyed this post. What was your favorite part of The Oscars? Mine was definitely John Legend's stellar performance. I'm in love with La La Land๐Ÿ˜ Do you have favorite Oscars looks? What do you think about my closing thoughts? Please leave any and all comments below if you feel like it!! xx

BEGINNING ♡

Ciao!!

Welcome to my blog! This is my very first post so I thought so I should just quickly introduce myself and talk a little bit about my plans, ideas, and inspirations for this site. For a while now I have been interested in blogging and building some basic skills in the massive world of digital influencing. I'm finally getting started and I'm really excited about it! So let begin.

   My passion is creating.

I serve a God of love, truth and beauty and I am seeking, striving to reflect and reveal who He is through my life.  Truth is my foundation, Love is my guide.  Music is the air I breathe, words are my fingerprints, souls are my quest. Language, fashion, photography, culture, travel, and people are my passions.  I love to learn and to adventure.

Where He has gifted me, I want to feed and flourish.

More than anything I want to lose myself in Christ's image.

On this blog I plan to share bits of my journey in these areas.  You'll find art here, in many forms. You'll find life lived- observed, attempted, failed, succeeded- by me.

                                                                                           Un Abbraccio,
                                                                                               Kathryn ๐Ÿ’‹
